Stewardship Campaign

Believe It or Not…

It cost £1740 per week to run our church in 2012

Why?

Church and Services costs               £ 89

Premises costs & overheads            £469

Fairer Shares Assessment (quota)    £1062

Parish Office costs                         £ 120

TOTAL OUTGOINGS                        £1740

But Our Income…

Planned Giving                               £596

Tax Recovered                               £200

Open Collections                            £122

Donations received                          £68

Church & hall use income                £444

TOTAL INCOME                             £1430

So We Have a Challenge

We need to find an extra £310 per week simply to break even.

BUT… “If we didn’t have to pay the Fairer Shares Assessment to the Diocese we wouldn’t have a problem”.  The Diocese operates a “FAIRER SHARES” Scheme. The cost of maintaining and supporting this is:  £62,000 (£1,193 per week)

This cost includes stipends, housing, assurance, pensions, etc (£981 per week), PLUS support costs (£212 per week).  Our contribution towards this through “Fairer Shares” is £54,000 (£1039 per week).  Because we share our Vicar with the St Luke’s our combined contribution to the Diocese is:  £103,500 (£1,991 per week)

This leaves a SURPLUS of: £41,500 (£798 per week) to help support other parishes in our Diocese.

To break even we need an extra £310 per week - that is an average of  £3.88 per head.  BUT we need to do more than that.  We need to put ourselves on a firm financial basis for the future.

To put ourselves right for the future it will cost an average of an extra £6 per head per week
