Junior Church

 

Welcome to Junior Church at the Barn!

 

Junior Church meets every week during school term time (except on the first Sunday of each month, which is an "All Age Worship" service, intended for family worship).

 

We all start off in Church together, then leave before the readings to go to the church hall for our own worship and activities, returning in time for communion with our families and the congregation.   Each week we base our worship and activities around a bible story.  Activities often include singing, playing games, acting, drawing and crafts, with the glue and glitter proving particularly popular! A team of Sunday School leaders are responsible for planning out the topics to be covered each week.  The classes are run as flexibly as possible, depending on the age and number of children attending: all the children are in one group together, and the older children enjoy helping the younger ones.

 

Junior Church is actively involved in the arrangements for services such as the Christmas crib service and Harvest Festival.  At the end of the summer term each year we have a Junior Church barbeque in the church gardens.  Junior Church has an important role in raising funds for the Barn, in particular by organising refreshment stalls for the church fairs at Christmas and in the summer.  Junior Church is also involved in fund raising for the Green Park School.

 

We always welcome new members of Junior Church and encourage parental involvement in every aspect of our Junior Church family. New parental volunteers are especially welcome.
